With the technical skills acquired from Equitas Canada under the East African Human Rights Programs , SARI conducts human rights education and awareness among young people. SARI uses arts such as story telling, filming, key messages, blogging, and performance arts with the approach of social movement building to empower young people, especially girls and young women in their rights as well as provisions made for them at local and international levels to enjoy the same. We draw on national policies such as the Uganda 2001 National Youth Policy, National Adolescent Health Policy and Strategy, NDP 111, National Policy on Elimination of Gender-Based Violence to mention but a few. The knowledge and skills acquired enables young people to key decision makers and duty bearers for quality SRHR service provision, GBV issues and meaningful participation in socio-economic development.
